The Reason of Fixing the Heart
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23
What are the issues of life?
- Success and Failure
A student who sets his heart to study hard for his dreams will succeed. A person who fixes his heart to work hard and never give up will reach his goal more likely than those who slacks and quits. God rewards those who have their hearts fixed on Him.
- Overcoming Temptations
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12
The opposite of blessed is cursed, so, cursed is everyone who doesn’t resist temptation.
Remember Joseph – He had overcome Mrs. Potiphar’s temptation because of his heart - loyal and faithful to God and his master.
But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Genesis 39:8-9
Prosperity and Poverty
Still, Remember Joseph – he was sold by his brothers to be a slave, he was accused and went to prison, but later he became a prosperous man.
And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand Genesis 39:3
